Résumé

Information has become vital for companies and Internet is a new way for them to disseminate their content (visual information). CMS (Content Management System) are tools designed for content management, offering features like collaborative work, publication and rights management. Companies can put online content dynamically without having knowledge in IT. Joomla! and OpenCMS are two of existing CMS. They both use a MySQL database for content storage. However the management of a website by joomla or openCms is quite different. Joomla uses a powerful interface for managing everything (articles, menus, content and users), whereas OpenCMS is more script-based for articles edition. Indeed you can edit pages directly with XML language, which requires more skills than Joomla!, which article editor contains advanced functions for text colours, line-jumping and text shape. Nevertheless they both are powerful Content Management Systems, very helpful to create and treat visual information on a websiste. Everything depends on the way you want to manage it…
